Located on a steep rainfall gradient, the main climatic issues for Hoima are excessively rainfall and intermittent drought.

Karnal is a hot semiarid region with dry summers and cool winters. Its key climatic issues are erratic rainfall and considerable inter-dry spell during crop growing season.
Rupandehi is a lowland plain located on the foothills of the Himalayas. The climate is humid subtropical with an average annual raninfall of 1455mm and a maximum temperature of 31⁰C.
Bagerhat lies in the southwest coastal area of Bangladesh. The key climate-related issues are salinity, sea-level rise, flooding, droughts, storm and cyclone - all increasing the number of environmental refugees.

Kaffrine is in the transition zone between the Sahel and the Sudan Savannah. With an average annual rainfall of 500-800mm, its key climate-related issues are high rainfall variability and poor soil fertility, resulting in low yield/income and high poverty levels with low access to capital.
Located in the Sahel, and with an average annual rainfall of just 300-500mm, Kollo is prone to yearly periods of drought. Agricultural productivity is low and is mainly based on millet cropping and agropastoral systems.
Segou is located in a transition zone between the Sudan and the Sahel Savannna with an annual rainfall of 680mm. Its key climate issues are high rainfall variability and poor soil fertility.
Lawra-Jirapa is located in the Guinea Savannah agro-ecological zone, with an average annual rainfall of around 950-1100 mm that supports a mixed smallholder cropping system. It is, however, constrained by high climate variability.
Located in the Sahel zone with less than 650mm of rainfall annually, Yatenga struggles with high rainfall variability, poor soil fertility and drought which are major constraints to its agricultural productivity.
